Shane Ó Fearghail
Shane is an Irish Singer-songwriter living in Vienna. From Dublin, his musical style fits neatly into the Irish Indie Folk box. Likened to REM, Crowded House, Rufus Wainright III, Glen Hansard and Ron Sexsmith, it is easy to see where his songwriting loyalties lie. Irish music however, is his first love.
“An uber professional Shane captivates every audience. Indeed great songwriting meets high musical sense. A fantastic artist!” Bernd Rossmann – Reinhardt Best Acoustics – Germany
The Latest Album
During the Covid-19 Loockdown – Shane used the time to record his “Irish” album ‘Born From Tradition”.

Shane Ó Fearghail’s new album is a pearl waiting to be discovered. A moment of calm reflection for the times we live in. Born From Tradition is the manifesto of an extremely authentic artist.” Adrian Coleașă – Midnight Burst (Romania).
Shane’s music background was born out of sing alongs and sessions at home in Dublin. Having worked internationally in the Animation industry for over ten years, Shane played small shows and “Trad Sessions”, writing songs and singing wherever he traveled. Head hunted by labels big and small over the years, this Dubliner was destined to follow his own independent path and now with four albums to his name (See Music – click here), Shane’s latest release, is an exclusive Irish Folk album in the ballad tradition. Written in English and Irish, recorded and released during lockdown, it takes him back home – metaphorically speaking, the proverbial salmon heading up stream. In 2021 ‘Born From Tradition’ was nominated for “Best Album Award” at the CeltCast Fantasy Awards in the Netherlands. ‘Ná Bí Buartha’, one of the album tracks, was also been nominated in the “Best Song” category. The album continues to receive airplay in cultural corners around the globe.
Shane continues to maintain his indie status and will begin work on his fifth studio album along with “The Host” in November 2021.

All singers and incredible players, Shane Ó Fearghail & The Host have a fantastic and exciting contemporary and alternative Irish – Appalachian folk roots feel. They are up tempo, crowd engaging and full of celtic soul. A great live band.
