The Spring Tour 2020

Shane Ó Fearghail & The Host
Spring Tour 2020

Here we go folks – it’s March and we’re into the Irish season. Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been a busy few months for Shane & The Host and 2020 is set to continue on that up-wards curve for the band.

Performing their own brand of contemporary Irish folk, they touch on punk and alternative Appalachian. Their set of original material is interwoven with ‘Host’ branded covers, where they tap effortlessly into European traditions with mesmerizing effect.

An artist by trade Shane Ó Fearghail is an Irish Singer-songwriter living in Vienna. From Dublin his musical style fits neatly into the Irish Indie Folk box. Likened to REM, Crowded House, Rufus Wainright III and Ron Sexsmith, it is easy to see where his songwriting loyalties lie. Irish music and poetry however, are his first loves.

“An uber professional at all his own appearances and whilst playing together with others. Always focused on his music, he captivates every audience. Indeed great songwriting meets high musical sense. A fantastic artist! ”Bernd Rossmann – Reinhardt Best Acoustics Germany

Meet The Host
An eclectic group of musicians ‘The Host’ come with new ideas. Hailing from Austria, Claudia Heidegger (Fiddle), Emily Velasquez (Bass), David Butschek (Percussion); together they bring rhythm to Shane’s rhyme. An ensemble that “vibes up” the music with new energy; breathing sunlight into old and new songs. All singers and incredible players, Shane & The Host have a fantastic and exciting contemporary Irish Appalachian folk roots feel, interlaced with that European twist. It is live however, where you’ll taste their full flavour.

“Shane Ó Fearghail & The Host are a wonderful live band. One of those bands that grabs the audience from the first minute and won’t let them go until the end. I love them!”  Harald Neger – Donauinselfest / We Serve You Better – Events Co.
