The Watcher & The Comet – The First Child.
“A diligent line between Bowie & REM, The Watcher & The Comet feels like a forgotten classic”. Eamon De Paor ~ The Metro (Dublin)
It’s been eleven years and two months since this wee bundle of music was presented to listeners on CD format. It was a pretty big deal for a younger Irish man having just left the world of animation, venturing into the realms of rock and roll and the music industry. Funded by my family and friends (forever in your debt), ‘The Watcher’ was recorded and produced in Cork by the legendary Herbie Macken. And what a three weeks it was.
Having opened so many doors since, The Watcher & The Comet introduced me to so many cool people and places and is responsible for taking to where I am now; living in Vienna with my best friend and partner Sabine Mann. Strange things will happen.
Working on a lot more new music, very soon I’ll be releasing album number four. A brand new baby and a little different from the ones before. Album number four will take me back to my roots, playing songs the way I stared. Ballads and folk sessions in Dublin with mo chlann. Much more to follow on that soon, but in the meantime, I would like to invite yout to listen to these first set of recorded songs, which is now on spotify, iTunes and CD Baby. After all this time I decided to the re-release The Watcher under my own name (The Watcher was originally released under the Caruso banner). Big shout out to Jeff Burns for management and of course Timmy O’Connell who plays drums on the record (another legend). Yours truly played everything else.
So sit back and go old school. Headphones and a dark room.
